Lately in the Garden // 11

My favourite colour at the moment is definitely yellow. There is so much yellow around - daffodils, primroses, forsythia. Flowers all over my garden are displaying their yellow loveliness. And now that the sun is out down here in Devon, everything seems so much brighter.

During the last week, my forsythia has come into full bloom. Its delicate, yellow petals are illuminated by the Springtime sunshine.

The sunshine has bought my hyacinths out and the daffs in pots on the patio are standing to attention.

I've only had time for a quick prune these last few days. I've cut back the lavender and fuchsia and tiny shoots are appearing. My hydrangea is also shooting well. It's lovely to see fresh, greenery slowly being introduced back into the garden.

And I have purple shoots coming through too! ^^ I'd forgotten about this plant.

Since taking this shot ^^ my crocuses have all died down. As soon as the milder weather came along they shrivelled up to nothing.

It's a shame that they didn't last long, but they were striking while they lasted.

Until next time...

As always, I will be linking up my garden wanderings with Mammasaurus

  1. Ah such a shame about the crocuses - ours have all gone over here too - but bluebells have taken their place so I'm not complaining! Happy Spring colours - and I hope your Easter hols are going well - thanks for joining in again x
