Life Lately // The week that was: Captured #11

Hello there. And how was your week?

I've been a bit rubbish with taking photos this week, so this post will be lacking somewhat but I'm just glad the week ended more positively than it began.

In a word, Monday was foggy. Foggy weather, foggy brain. I was all a fog on Monday morning following a restless night with little T and her poorly ear. She was not well enough to go to school on Monday so daddy stayed at home to look after her and I went to work.

On Tuesday little T had perked up, so she was well enough to go back to school. When the girls arrived home from school they were very excited to see that the tickets for the X Factor Live Tour had arrived. It will be the first proper concert I've taken them to.

Nothing really stands out from the norm for the rest of the week. I must admit I was counting down the days until the end of term. I felt so ready for some time off work, to spend some quality time with the girls. It's a shame the husband and I can't be off together but we have to plan our leave to fit with the school holidays. That's just the way it is at the moment.

There were however, a handful of highlights from the week that made me smile. Moments that made me feel happy and reminded me that it's the little things that can make all the difference to your day:

Daffodils truly brightened up my week. I picked up a bunch for a pound at Sainsbury's and it's like having a little bit of sunshine on my window sill.

Discovering the concatenate  function in Excel. Seriously, why had I never known this little feature existed before? You will not believe the impact this had, to quicken up a fairly mundane task I had to undertake at work. Hurray for YouTube tutorials!

Planning catch up days with friends. I've booked myself some days off work to meet up those who I haven't seen for a while.

Over hearing my 11 year old helping my 7 year old with her 4 times table. They love to play schools and the older one enjoys to test her little sister with her maths. I love to listen in on them playing together.

Seeing the looks on my two's faces when daddy arrived home with KFC one night after work.

So that was it for last week, as far as I can remember. Lack of sleep at the beginning of the week certainly took it's toll, as did having to rest up an injured knee, for which I've been referred for physiotherapy, but I am now glad to be off with the girls and cannot wait to spend time with family and friends during the half term break.

Have a good week :)

  1. I love daffodils :) They're just so cheery in the bleak of late Winter! Hope you're ok and that you get some sleep soon.

Thanks for linking up to #TWTWC xx

  2. It really is the little things...and the KFC. Always the KFC.
I seem to still have birthday flowers all over the house which feels decadent and I like it. When they croak it, I'll be on the daffs for cheeriness.
