Life Lately // The week that was: Captured #10

It's that time of the week again, where I attempt to sum up the week that's been and gone and share a few snaps with you all. I planned to do this on Sunday evening, but this was not to be. Just as I was settling down to watch 'Call the Midwife' after a busy day consisting of the usual Sunday stuff, my littlest lady revealed that she had ear ache. Bang went my relaxed evening of telly and blogging. In fact she became quite poorly, crying with pain, which was heartbreaking to see. I felt quite helpless. But after a dose of calpol, olive oil drops, a warm flannel pressed against her ear and me perched on the bed alongside her for the entire evening, she finally settled and fell asleep at 2am.

So, back to my week. It was nice to have a tiny slice of the little lady's cake to take with me to the office this week. Suffice to say, it didn't last long! I was trying to be good with my salads again but I just cannot resist something a little bit sweet to finish off. I've been keeping up with the fitness regime to balance things out and went dancing on Monday, although sadly, I think I am going to have to give it up as my knee has been playing up recently, to the point that it's quite painful walking up and down stairs.

Nothing much happened on Tuesday or Wednesday, apart from work and the every day 'mum stuff'. On Thursday I attempted a run and wrote about it here.

On Friday the girls went for a sleep over at granny and grandad's and we treated ourselves to a nice meal at The Railway, in Honiton. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. There's a really relaxed atmosphere about the place. Very friendly and welcoming.

1. Last slice of Victoria sponge, nice while it lasted // 2. Trying to have a healthy week // 3. The most chicken I have ever experienced on a pizza on Friday night. So tasty.
On Saturday I went shopping (minus two little pesterers, who were still at the grandparents!) following which I spent the afternoon drinking tea with the in-laws, listening to what my little ladies had been up to.

On Sunday I took the girls swimming, then we returned to a delicious Sunday dinner cooked by the Mr. Afterwards, as it was too nice to stay indoors we went out for a walk in the sunshine.

The ground underfoot was very muddy as we trudged across the fields. The tractors have been been out and the farmers have been very busy just lately. We love to see the changes that the farming cycles bring.

A sign (whoopie- do!)
1. Looking back at the East Devon farmland // 2. The crops are doing well. Not sure if the sheep are supposed to be there, munching away // 3. One of many rabbit holes that we spotted en route // 4. Muddy tractor tracks and the rolling hills of Devon
I'm linking up again to the week that was: captured, over at Make, Do and Push!

  1. The farmers have been super busy up here too! It's so different living next to it! Sounds like a good week barring the earache - I hope she is feeling better.

Thanks for linking up to #TWTWC xx
