My Makes // Knitted Rainbow Scarf

Last year, just as I was finishing off my infinity scarf that I shared with you here, my nephew asked me if I would knit him a scarf. I asked him what colour scarf he wanted and he said "I'd like all different colours please Aunty Lorn. Like a rainbow"

The challenge was set. I had the perfect multi-coloured yarn in my stash, so I got to work.

I finally finished it last week. It took several months. A few rows here and there. I must admit, knitting a scarf is tedious stuff. No shaping to contend with and it seems to go on and on and on... snore.

That's the last scarf for me for a while. I need something a bit more challenging for the next knit project.

The stitch I chose went a bit like this:

Row 1: knit 1, yarn round needle, slip a stitch, knit 2, then pass slipped stitch over the two knit stitches.
Row 2: Purl

I've not given it to my nephew yet. I hope he likes it. If not he could always let one of his teddies wear it.

Have you made a gift for a young relative? What was their reaction to your creative endeavours?

  1. I think the only thing I've ever knitted is half a scarf. Haha. My mum used to knit all the time so she kind of taught me. And I kind of sucks.

I hope your nephew likes it.
